2017 Festival of Native Arts!

Hello people who are reading this! Want to know about one special event that happens every spring time here at UAF? An event that has been around for almost 44 years? Interested? Alright! Well, starting on March 2nd, 2017, Festival of Native Arts will happen again for the 44th year in a row! What is Festival of Native Arts? Great Question!

Festival of Native Arts started in 1973 when a group of UAF Student and Faculty members came together to "consider a spring festival focused on the artistic expressions of each Alaska Native culture." So, now, with the commencement of the 44th gathering, Festival of Native Arts will carry on the traditions set forth 44 years ago.

What theme is FNA this year? Well, the theme for this year's FNA is "Carry Your Drum, Carry Your Culture" Every year, FNA chooses a different theme for the event. The 2017 Festival of Native Arts will start on March 2nd, and end on March 4th. The event brings a lot of Natives and non-Natives together for the joyous time and also a wide range of vendors during the duration of the event. Are you attending FNA? If so, I will see you there!
