Why I Am Ready for Finals to be Over

Wanting finals to be over. That may seem like something that everyone simply wants, no more studying, a month off of school, getting to spend time with family and friends, whom you haven't seen since you left for school in the summer. Finals is a time where your stress levels go crazy, you consume about 3 times as much coffee as you normally do, and if you are like me, you probably have a mental breakdown and think you are going to fail all of your classes. But finals are nothing to be worried about. The stress will come to an end and then we will have a whole glorious month of nothing to do but relax. But alas, at this point we still have finals week looming over us, causing us stress and worry. We all see the light at the end of the tunnel. So here are a few tips on how to study like a boss and not be insanely stressed about finals.

1. Don't over-study

What I mean by this is do not spend all your time studying and lose your precious sleep over it. To be fully prepared for your exam you need to study, but you also need to be mentally prepared by making sure that you are sleeping, eating, and taking care of yourself in general. So take a few study breaks, or just don't pull a week of all nighters and make sure to take care of yourself!

2. Start studying a few days before your exam.

This one is the hardest for me to do, because I always find something else "more important" to do instead of study for the exam 3 days away, but this is the best way to cram in all that information without having to pull an all-nighter before the exam.

3. Use sticky notes to keep track of what you do not know.

This way you have a visual representation of what still needs to be studied, as well as feeling accomplished when you remove your sticky notes until your wall is bare. This also helps with the studying a few days ahead tip because you will have the constant reminder that you will need to study.

4. Use study-guides!

There is a reason that some of your professors will post study guides, and that is because they are trying to guide you in the right direction on what you will need to study to get a good grade on this final. Plus it is a much easier way to study!
